CIEB Selection Guidelines Document

The CIEB selection guidelines document, which assists us in evaluating apps and platforms based on 9 criteria to choose the most suitable one for our students.

The guidelines presented in this document aim to help the processes of choosing and evaluating Digital Educational Resources (DERs/ REDS) for teachers and users. The objective is to provide simple and quick parameters that do not require specialized knowledge in technology, allowing any professor or user to use them in their daily lives when accessing repositories of available REDs.

The document presents nine parameters that should be analyzed by the teacher during the process of choosing to use an educational resource (RED). They are:

1. Does the content align with the curriculum?
2. Is the content of high quality and suitable for its purpose?
3. Does it enable innovative pedagogical methods, promoting engagement and facilitating learning?
4. Does it have effective ways to assess learning?
5. Is it easy to use?
6. Does it work with the systems available in your network/school?
7. Is the infrastructure available in your network/school sufficient for using the resource?
8. Does it have features for inclusion and accessibility?
9. Seek references and share experiences.
